SHINee

Shinee (stylized as SHINee and was pronounced as “shiny”), is a contemporary R&B South Korean boy band. The group was formed by SM Entertainment in 2008, and they made their official debut on May 25, 2008 on SBS’s Popular Songs with their promotional single, “Nunan Neomu Yeppeo (Replay)”. SHINee was composed of five members, Onew, Jonghyun, Key, Minho, and Taemin.

Since their debut, they had won numerous awards. They have also starred in their own reality show based on their song “Nunan Neomu Yeppeo (Replay)”. They are also considered to be fashion icons having started the “SHINee Trend”, which is very popular amongst younger generations today.

The Members











Lee Jinki (born on December 14, 1989), also known by his stage name Onew, is the leader of the Korean boy band “SHInee”. He is also one of the main vocalists and the oldest member of the group.

Onew was born in the city of Gwangmyeong, Gyeonggi-do. He was discovered at the “2006 S.M. Academy Casting”. Onew collaborated with Lee Hyun Ji, former member of project group Banana Girl, for his song "Vanilla Love".













Kim Jonghyun (born on April 8, 1990), better known as just Jonghyun only, is one of the main vocalists in the group. Before debuting with SHINee, he sang a duet ,”Wrongly Given Love”, with Zhang Liyin for her debut Chinese album I Will.

He was born and raised in Seoul, South Korea. He was discovered at the “2005 S.M. Academy Casting”. He’s also the lead vocal of his group.













Kim Kibum (born on September 23, 1991), commonly known by his stage name Key,is one of the rappers and vocalists of their group. Before debuting with Shinee, Key appeared Super Junior’s Wonder Boy MV as an extra dancer. Key was featured in label-mate Xiah's solo "Xiahtic".

Key was born and raised in Daegu. He was a gifted varsity water-skier at Dae Gu Young Shin Middle School. His stage name was Key because he really loves to solve things.















Choi Minho (born on December 9, 1991), better known as Minho, is the other rapper of the group. Before debuting with Shinee, Minho modeled for Ha Sang Baek's "Seoul Collection F/W 08-09" in March

He was born and raised in Incheon. He was discovered in “2006 S.M. Casting System”. . He has appeared in Girls' Generation's music video "Gee". Minho is also a permanent cast member in KBS's Dream Team Season 2.


















Lee Taemin (born on July18, 1993), commonly known as Taemin,is the leaddancer of the group. He was also the youngest member of the group. He was discovered at the "2005 S.M. Open Weekend Audition Casting”.

He was born and raised in Seoul, South Korea. Taemin debuted as an actor in the sitcom Taehee-Hyekyo-Jihyun! Despite being the youngest, he still is considered the lead dancer & in every dance number Shinee performs he has his few second solo. He has always been praised for his skills from such a young age.

girl's generation

Girls’ generation is a South Korean girl group also formed by SM Entertainment in 2007. Girls' Generation is one of South Korea's top female pop groups. This Korean girl group was composed of nine members, Taeyeon (leader), Jessica, Sunny, Yoona, Tiffany, Yuri, Hyoyeon, Sooyoung, and Seohyun. Girls’ Generation is also known as SNSD, the acronym of the group’s Korean name So Nyeo Shi Dae or So Nyuh Shi Dae.

This girl group has released two albums and various singles. Their most successful song is “Gee”, which is the longest-running #1 song on KBS`s Music Bank, at 9 weeks total.

This girl group was also driving me and my girl pals crazy.

Kim Taeyon (born on March 9, 1989), better known as Taeyon was the leader of the 9-member South Korean girl group “Girls’ Generation”. She, together with the other eight members of the group debuted on August 5, 2007.

She was born on the city of Jeonju,North Jeolla. She and the rest of her group were trained in singing and dancing. She was discovered in the 2004 SM Entertainment's 8th Annual Best Contest winning Best Singer 1st Place & Grand Award in the contest.


Jessica Jung (born on April 18. 1989) was one of the members of the Korean girl group “Girls’ Generation”. She is a Korean American singer, dancer, musical theater and actress. She officially debuted as a singer on August 5, 2007, together with her group.

She was born in San Francisco, California. She auditioned at the SM Casting System and joined the company in 2000. She together with her other group mates was trained in singing and dancing. Although she was in United States, she can speak both Korean and English very fluently.


Lee Soon-Kyu (born on May 15, 1989), also known as her stage name Sunny, is a South Korean singer and a member of SNSD, better known as Girls’ Generation. She debuted as member of Girls’ Generation in 2007.

Sunny was born in United States and later moved to Kuwait. But because of the Gulf War, her family moved back to Korea. She is also the Lee Soo Man, the founder of SM Entertainment.


Im Yoona (born on May 30, 1990) or commonly known as Yoona, is a Korean singer, actress, model, and dancer. She is a member of the Korean girl group Girls' Generation and was known as the first member to join. She made her debut as singer on August 5. 2007, together with her group. She also debuted as an actress in the 2007 Korean drama, 9ends and 2 outs.

Yoona was born in Seoul, South Korea. She began to train with the other trainees under the same company in the areas of acting, singing and dancing. During her training days, Yoona appeared on some music videos of other SM artists. She was trained for 6 years before debuting as part of Girls' Generation.


Stephanie Hwang (born on August 1, 1989), or also known as Tiffany of Girls’ Generation, is a Korean singer and dancer.

Tiffany was born in Diamond Bar, California. She was the youngest of three siblings and the supporting vocalist of her group. She can speak English fluently and really loves the color pink… hhhhmmmpppp… that’s a girl I think…


Kwon Yu-ri(born on December 5, 1989),better known by her stage name Yuri, is a South Korean singer, and is most notably a member of the girl group Girls’ Generation. She also known to be the third person to join in the group, and she also debuted as singer on August 5, 2007 along with the group.

Yuri was born in Goyang, South Korea. Yuri graduated from NeungGok High School in 2008 and is currently attending at Chung-Ang University along with band mate Sooyoung and Big Bang's Seungri.


Kim Hyo Yeon (born September 22, 1989), better known by her stage name Hyoyeon, is a also a member of the Korean girl group Girls’ Generation. She has a specialty in dancing and in speaking Chinese.

She lived in her hometown Incheon, so during her trainee days she had to travel for more than an hour on the subway.


Choi Soo-young (born on February 10 1990), known by her stage name Sooyoung , is a South Korean singer, dancer, actress, TV presenter, model, and radio DJ. She is known as a member of the nine-member girl group Girls' Generation.

Sooyoung was born in South Korea on February 10, 1990. She was discovered on SM Casting System via the 2000 SM Open Audition. She then auditioned for the 2002 Korea-Japan Ultra Idol Duo Audition and won first place, marking her debut into the Japanese music scene with the band Route 0.

Sooyoung graduated from Jungshin Women High School in 2009 and is currently taking up Performing Arts major in Theater at Chung-Ang University.

Seo Joo-hyun (born on June 28, 1991), also known by her stage name Soohyun, was positioned as one of the five vocalist of the group. She was appointed by the Seoul Metropolitan Office as their goodwill ambassador for students' fitness.

She was born in Seoul, South Korea as a only child and daughter. She attended Seoul Middle School and Daeyoung High School, from which she graduated on February 9, 2010 with the Achievement Award and currently attends Dongguk University, major in acting like her fellow member, Yoona.
